Working with your own parents on their home is an incredibly special experience and this project was no exception. Helping Mum and Dad transition from our long-time family home into a smaller townhouse for their retirement was both meaningful and rewarding. Mum was determined that downsizing didn’t mean compromising on personality. Never afraid of colour or pattern, we embraced bold wall coverings and richly layered fabrics, balanced with a refined palette of paint colours, tiles, flooring and kitchen finishes. The result is a stunning townhouse filled with character, warmth and individuality, while still maintaining an undeniable sense of calm and relaxation. Every layer was carefully considered to create a true sanctuary – a place for Mum and Dad to retreat from the busy world outside and fully enjoy this next chapter of life. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome for them.
