The administration block at McCain Timaru was in need of rejuvenation, with no visible branding and minimal street appeal. Petronella’s Interior Design was engaged to develop a refreshed exterior colour scheme aligned with the company’s corporate identity, including new finishes for the roof and aluminium windows. Key elements of the revamp included the repainting of the existing tiled roof, installation of new aluminium windows and doors and plastering of the original brickwork to achieve a clean, contemporary facade. Rejuvenating this very tired and dated law firms exterior and interior was a real pleasure. After exploring the option of relocating their practice to new, modern building, the four Directors and Practice Manager decided they wanted to stay in their iconic heritage building as they felt strongly that it was a reflection of the company’s brand and longevity in the South Canterbury community. Their brief to Petronella’s Interior Design was only that of ‘modern but sympathetic to the building and the law firms ‘brand”.  

This local agricultural business had outgrown operating from portacoms and with rapid expansion underway, it was time to create a purpose-built head office that truly supported their team and reflected the heart of their business.   The brief was clear: design an interior where staff would genuinely enjoy arriving each day – one that felt considered, welcoming and aligned with the work they do.
